Tirzepatide Dosing Education: Structure, Not Schedules

How tirzepatide dosing is structured and why — educational only. Personal dosing decisions belong with prescribers and the approved label.

The escalation logic

Doses increase at four-week intervals toward maintenance strengths; the slow ramp exists to manage GI tolerability, and skipping escalation steps increases discontinuation risk.

Approved maintenance strengths

Mounjaro (T2D): up to 15 mg weekly. Zepbound (obesity): up to 15 mg weekly, with lower strengths used for maintenance after response. Single-dose pens are titration-staged.

Missed-dose handling

The label specifies the window for a late dose and — importantly — that missed doses are not doubled.

Why this page stops short

Schedules circulating online (including for compounded copies) describe products without verified identity or strength. The trial evidence on this site describes the approved medicine.

Educational content only — not medical advice. Dosing and treatment decisions belong with the approved label and a prescriber.
